How It Works

1. Log in using your Recreation.gov account, and a special code.

Log in with your recreation.gov credentials. Rec TicketBot securely uses this session to bypass primary rate limits and access the underlying availability APIs on your behalf. The special code comes from someone that you know who made this site.

2. Search for a Campsite.

I would first search for the site in recreation.gov, and paste that name into the search bar to find the right campsite. Use the Dashboard search bar to find your desired campground across the entire recreation.gov database.

3. Determine your site monitoring settings

Pick a target date, how many consecutive days you want to stay, and specify the exact campsites you desire. Set the scan frequency from 15 seconds to 24 hours. There are no limits to number of monitors.

4. Receive Alerts

When someone cancels their reservation, the background scheduler detects the shift and fires an **immediate email alert**. You'll also receive a **daily summary email** to keep you informed of all scanning attempts.
